Health Fair

Saturday, March 21, 2015
7 AM-11 AM
at the Webster County Community Hospital

The Webster County Community Hospital will be hosting its Annual Health Fair on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 from 7am-11am at the hospital in Red Cloud.

Blood draws including a chemistry profile, complete blood count, and lipid profile will be available Saturday morning for $40! Two additional tests, the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone and Hemoglobin A1c, are also available for $10 each. These lab draws require fasting for at least 12 hours prior to the draw. Payment is required at the time of the lab draw. If you have any questions about this, please contact the WCCH lab department (402) 746-5600.

The Health Fair will also be the perfect time to sign up for your patient portal account! We will have computers and staff available to help you sign up easily! Be sure to remember your email password, as your confirmation pin number will be sent directly to personal your email address. Lab results can also be received much quicker through the portal!

WCCH is also excited to host a bone marrow drive in honor of two individuals from Superior, NE who were recently diagnosed with leukemia. 4 year-old Levi Clark was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in June 2013 and Tim Schmidt, Nuckolls County Attorney, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in January 2015. Levi's experimental treatment is currently managing his cancer and fortunately Tim has a brother who is a perfect transplant match, but many patients do not have these options!

Who can become a bone marrow donor?
You must be 18-55 years old, in good general health, weigh at least 110 pounds, have a maximum body mass index of 40, and be willing to donate to any patient in need. If you meet these requirements, you can sign up by completing a registration form and swabbing the inside of your cheeks to collect cells for HLA tissue typing. Click HERE for additional details.
